New book idea: (tell me what you think)
Do you ever go to bed angry with your mate, then either stay mad at them through the night, or get even angrier with them as you sleep (or toss an turn)? Have you ever woke up even madder than when you went to sleep?
I think we mull over the fights we leave unsettled before bed all night long. I have observed this in several client couples. My wife even admits having experienced this phenomenon herself!
There’s a scripture directive regarding this: ““In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry” (Ephesians 4:26), which means to me that you should settle your disputes before you go to bed. This can apply outside your immediate family, but I suspect it really hits home (so to speak!) regarding husbands and wives – or parents and kids.
Is this something you’d like to learn more about? Would you be interested in learning how to avoid these issues?
